Committees – The Best Way to Get Involved in Your Chamber |
||
Joining a committee is an ideal way to get involved in the Chamber and the San Fernando Valley business community. It is the Chamber’s committees that support the work of the Chamber in networking, advocacy, membership services, business education, and community beautification. There are 10 committees and task forces awaiting your participation. Membership & Business Services Ambassadors – Sign Up Now! The Ambassadors assist new members, new employees of members, and guests to help them get acclimated into the Chamber. They also serve as greeters at networking events and ribbon cuttings. Membership Services Task Force – Sign Up Now! Assists the Chamber in planning networking events and business education programs. Special Events 9@Night Golf Committee – Sign Up Now! Organizes and plans the annual fundraising 9-hole golf tournament, which is held in conjunction with an After 5. Non golfers welcome too! After 5 Task Force – Sign Up Now! This task force meets 4x a year to plan themes and identify hosts for upcoming After 5 events. B.A.S.H. – Business & Social Hour Committee – Sign Up Now! B.A.S.H. is a business showcase and Valley-wide mixer highlighting Valley businesses. Clean-Up Day Committee – Sign Up Now! This annual event funds the Chamber’s graffiti removal program. Over 100 people take to the streets to pick up trash, remove debris, and paint-off graffiti. Inaugural Ball Committee – Sign Up Now! Plans the Chamber’s annual gala held each Spring — an evening of dinner, dancing, and entertainment, as well as honoring some of the Valley’s best businesses.. Latino Expo Committee – – Sign Up Now! With m ore than 25,000 attendees last year, the Latino Expo is recognized as the largest Latino consumer outreach event in the Southland. Help plan and coordinate this annual family festival and trade show. Government Affairs Government Affairs Committee – Sign Up Now! Reviews laws and regulations that unreasonably inhibit business, improve the business climate, or affect the quality of life. When appropriate, the committee will recommend a course of action to the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Legislative Review Council – Sign Up Now! Designed as a quick response team on fast-moving legislation, this committee determines if the Chamber has a standing position, sets policy when there is none in place, and quickly communicates the Chamber’s message to legislators.
