Valley Girl – that famous 1982 New Wave hit by Frank Zappa’s daughter Moon – drew nationwide attention to the San Fernando Valley and its many shopping malls. The song satirized the attitudes of the rich teenage girls who haunted the malls of the Valley and introduced new phrases into the English language.
