This colorful spot is an authentic Japanese garden featuring a Zen meditation garden; “wet strolling” area with waterfalls, lakes, and streams; and an authentic teahouse with an adjacent tea garden. Free docent-guided tours are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturday mornings.

Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve

Ringed by mountains, rivers and streams, the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve is haven of rest for wildlife and humans alike, a welcome oasis within an urban setting. It is here where the visitor of today can get a sense of what this part of the San Fernando Valley might have been like before agriculture and urban settlement forever changed the Valley floor.
The Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve is located near Burbank Boulevard and can be entered on either Burbank Blvd. or Woodley Avenue.

Model Airplane Field (Radio Controlled Model Aircraft)
The Apollo XI field is located in the Sepulveda Basin. The flying field is available every day from dawn to dusk except during sanctioned field events.

Pedlow Skate Park
The 8,500 square foot concrete skate bowl includes rails, steps, walls, a "fun box," "pyramid" and "waterfall". Pedlow Field Skate Park is open from 12:00 pm-sunset Monday-Friday and 9:00 am-sunset on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Dozens of skateboards and in-line skaters enjoy the park every day.

Van Nuys Airport Observation Area
View small jets and fixed wing aircraft take off and land at the world’s busiest general aviation airport in the world. The Van Nuys Airport Observation Area is open daily from 8 a.m. to Sunset and is located west of Woodley, at the end of Waterman Drive.
